According to Wojnarowski, Horford "relented on the late Hawks push" and decided to notify the Celtics of his plans to sign. Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com noted that Atlanta's offer maxed out at $136 million over five years.
Horford is coming off a campaign that saw him average 15.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 50.5 percent from the field.
Those numbers were comparable to his production from the previous year. But his stats have been down a bit since a career season in 2012-13, when he put up 17.4 points and a personal-best 10.2 rebounds per game.
The former University of Florida standout is among the best, most consistent bigs in the NBA. His versatility is a huge reason for that; he is capable of excelling at power forward and center at both ends of the floor.
